Okay, now I'm switching from the Riding side to the Pyland side. Short post, but I remember when mom and I were in Arkansas and Mama Pyland was in the hospital. She was a little disorientated and looking in the mirror, she said, "who's that old Indian standing over there"? I also remember the hairs on her chinny chin chin. Oh please my children...........................don't leave me in a hospital bed with hairs on my chin. Love ya forever...............

Aunt Myrna, if you look just under the post, where it has the _ comment part, it usually says who posted it.
I don't have any memories of Mama Pyland--of course! But I have a lot of pictures in my head of her from all of Grandma Moody's stories--especially the one about Mama Pyland canning peaches and how Grandma and Wanda fanned flies off her the whole time. Also of Papa Pyland and how he'd peel an apple in one long string--I think of him when I see those apple corer/peeler contraptions we have now. He probably would have loved it...
I am SO thankful for all the stories Grandma left for us to read--I read them a lot and they have become such a part of me that I almost feel I was there too:) I also love that my mom spent so much time compiling a lot of Grandma Moody's articles--reading those gives me a huge sense of who she was and how she thought--thanks Mom!

Courtnie, I knew I could count on you! Perhaps I should start a list of needs to be met. That way, you will be prepared when the time comes and nothing will be a surprise?
I'm going to try and get Aunt Wanda to fly out here when we decide about a time and place for a family gathering next year. We were going to have her come this July 4th but it fell through because she had taken a fall and decided she should get her affairs in order. Hopefully she will be able to come and regale us with the Pyland stories...so funny!
